PiHi resident Shraddha Srivastav Strennen (Wimbledon) has planned a fun, family-friendly, outdoor event to celebrate Holi, the Hindu festival of colors and festival of spring. Thank you, Shraddha!
RSVP on Eventbrite and see below for info about $10 cost Venmo
"Holi is one of our favorite Indian festivals that celebrates the arrival of Spring. This year, Holi is March 18, but we are celebrating a little later to avoid the rain. There's nothing formal about this... Wear white, grab your water sprayers, meet us at the park, and prepare to get doused in colored powder!
This year, we are going to order the gulal (colored powder) in bulk rather than send everyone to their local Indian store. Please Venmo $10 per family to @Shraddha-Strennen. Make sure to say Holi in the notes area. Once the order is placed, your contribution will be non-refundable. Orders will be placed March 17 and March 31.
Traditionally, we wear white, but more importantly... Don't wear anything that can't get covered in powder (powder may not come out), and don't wear anything that is transparent when wet. We recommend bringing wet wipes and towels, maybe even a change of clothes! Masks are advised for the unvaccinated – or for anyone wanting to keep the powder out of their mouths!
In case of inclement weather, I will send out a message to those who have RSVP'd to reschedule. The expected rain day would be Sunday, April 17."
