History & Highlights Hike in Atlanta's Piedmont HeightS
Saturday, June 22nd from 10:00 a.m.–noon
Did you know one of Atlanta's oldest neighborhoods is tucked away in the heart of the city between Ansley Park, Morningside, and Midtown? Piedmont Heights is a "Small Town in a Big City" with lots of history as well as a vibrant business community!
Bring the family or a friend and enjoy a two-hour guided walking tour through Piedmont Heights! Get your steps in while walking around this tree-filled neighborhood with Steve Saenz of ExploreATL Tours.
History buffs along with neighborhood residents will love learning about this Piedmont Heights' unique landmarks in Atlanta’s history as well as its recent street art installations. Who is Monroe Drive named after? Have you ever seen the second-oldest home in Atlanta? You'll learn about these historic gems and much more! Also, in October 2018, two traffic boxes received a creative facelift with custom artwork created by local artist Lauren Pallotta Stumberg (ThinkGreatly), made possible by a Neighborhood Arts Grant from the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs.
With your History & Highlights Hike tour ticket, you also receive one raffle ticket! Additional tickets may be purchased in advance or the day of the tour.
