CONGRATULATIONS TO LOCAL ATLANTA ARTISTS, CHARITY HAMIDULLAH AND ANGIE JEREZ!
The Beautify PiHi Traffic Box Art Project is funded by a City of Atlanta Neighborhood Planning Unit Community Impact Grant! This project is managed by the Piedmont Heights Civic Association (PHCA) in collaboration with the Piedmont Heights Community Improvement Foundation (PHCIF) and Piedmont Heights Alliance (PiHi Alliance).
In September, Charity and Angie will be installing their beautiful creations in Piedmont Heights!
Learn more about this project or RSVP if you're interested in volunteering to help us clean and prime these boxes before the artists install their wonderful creations.
Charity will be painting the traffic box by the Chevron gas station at the corner of Monroe Dr. & Piedmont Rd., and Angie will be painting the traffic box off the I-85 Access Road next to Cirque Daquiri Bar across from Fire Station #29. This project will allow the transformation of two blank traffic signal boxes into signature pieces of local art that tell the story of Piedmont Heights and create memorable moments of joy as residents and visitors move through this historic Atlanta neighborhood.
Piedmont Heights deeply appreciates our Artist Selection Panel, comprised of Sharon Dennehy of Notch8 Gallery, Mark Karelson of Mason Fine Art, and Spalding Nix of Spalding Nix Fine Art. And special thanks to Jennifer Ohme of IdealDesign for her guidance and consultation during this project.
