THREE BeltLine Things!

3. Save the Date: August 4 Groundbreaking Ceremony

Everyone's invited! A groundbreaking ceremony will take place on Friday, August 4 at 11 a.m. at the north end of the Park Tavern parking lot. Construction will start the following week on the trail that runs from the northern end of the Eastside Trail to Westminster Drive with a portion through Piedmont Park (Note: this is the section before the trail behind Ansley Mall). They're also working on additional pedestrian safety improvements at the intersection of 10th and Monroe Dr. The schedule to complete construction is approximately 12-18 months.

Attack of the Killer Tomato Fest

Georgia Organics is headquartered just around the corner in Armour Yards. Their delicious fundraiser – 🍅 Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival (#AKTF) – returns to Westside Provisions District on Sun., July 30 from 1-4 p.m.

Passes include tastings and beverages featuring tomatoes in all the ways from Georgia restaurants, bars, and other tomato-serving establishments.

Georgia Organics is the oldest statewide non-profit providing direct support to local and organic farmers, and celebrates the delicious Farmer Champion partnership between Georgia's organic farmers and the culinary teams who make local ingredients shine.

VaHi Pool Proposal

The newly formed Virginia-Highland (VaHi) Pool Association is excited to share a proposal with nearby neighborhoods to develop a community pool!

The proposed location for the pool is the “Field of Dreams” located at the corner of Ponce De Leon Place and Virginia Ave.

The pool would operate year-round, benefiting both the community and APS students.

Arts on the Beltline by a PiHi Resident!

New to PiHi, poet Robert Barsky was chosen as an Arts on the Beltline artist, and he has created a poem about a Lord Byron-inspired poet named George who wanders the BeltLine and tells stories based on what he experiences.

The poem is online and connected by QR codes on the Atlanta BeltLine signs, with excerpts mounted in four areas, including at the Monroe and 10th Eastside Trail entrance and before  Ponce City Market.

Metropolitan Transportation Plan Update

Atlanta is conducting a major update of the long-range Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), which will allocate over $170 billion toward transportation projects that address regional transportation needs through 2050. Help develop the plan by visiting their website and taking their survey.
