APD Camera NetworkYou can register your residential or business video cameras/security cameras with APD. Perfect if you have a Ring doorbell, Arlo camera, etc. Online registration of your camera does NOT allow APD to view a live feed, nor will it give them automatic access of your video footage. Online registration helps APD create a network of camera owners to whom they can push out requests for video when there's a specific geographical area of interest. The request will have the info they are looking for, as well as a link for the camera owner to upload videos. Getting evidence faster obviously makes identifying potential suspects more efficient.

Beltline Subarea 6 Meeting
The BeltLine continues its process of updating the Subarea 6 Master Plan with their second round of engagement. Mark your calendar for their next public meeting on August 18 at 6:00 p.m. (virtually). More info, including how to register, should be posted here soon.
To ensure that Piedmont Heights is informed, represented, and supported in this process, the PHCA Board voted in approval to join with VaHi and MLPA in contracting with Aaron Fortner from Canvas Planning Group. Aaron has significant experience in planning and urban design, including with the City of Atlanta. He's also worked on the Master Plan for Morningside-Lenox Park. He's familiar with our area, and we are glad to have his expertise in representing our interests.

Property Tax & Appeals
By now, you should have received your property assessment notice in the mail. You may also find your notice on the Assessor's website. This assessment is not your actual tax bill, which you will receive later this year.
If you do not agree with your assessed value, you have 45 days from the mailing of the assessment notice to submit a formal appeal and begin the process of contesting your property value. In most instances, the appeals deadline is Monday, August 1, 2022. PHCA has worked with Walter Hotz to appeal our property taxes for Gotham Way Park – highly recommend Mr. Hotz and his appeal services!
