Roxx Tavern Closing – Temporarily?

It's been really tough for the businesses on Cheshire Bridge, between the pandemic, the bridge closure, and the construction on Piedmont. 

Roxx Tavern is hitting the "pause" button, closing this Saturday. They hope to reopen sometime in the spring, but for now – make your way over to Roxx Tavern to say your well wishes and to celebrate their 22 in business!

Octopus Kitchen Alcohol License Update

Even with 500+ neighbors turning out to vote against the alcohol license for Octopus Kitchen, the License Review Board (LRB) still voted to recommend approval for their license. 

The LRB's vote for approval succeeded despite facts presented by our NPU-F Permits Chair that the business lacks adequate parking, the same owner was denied at another location, there is a history of violations at other locations managed by the applicant, and the intent via social media to operate hours later than stated on the application.

The license now heads to Mayor Bottoms for final approval.

Story Time for your little ones  will be every Tuesday at 10:30am! Fill out their interest form so they can ensure a limited-seating safe environment.

And their Book Club resumes on January 26. Again, please fill out that interest form to receive an invitation to join in person. They'll be reading Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead.

Christmas Eve Service

Saint Martin Lutheran Church (in the former Rock Spring Church building) will host its Christmas Eve service, open to all, next Friday at 7pm, with special music beginning at 6:45pm.
