Drew, Tell us about your business ?
We are a referral based insurance agency in Atlanta, specializing in home, renters, auto and business insurance. I started my business with 0 clients, but thanks to great friends and business partners I have grown to over 2000 households in less than 6 years. Your team? I have three great team members that truly make the difference in every day…I would be nowhere without their efforts.
- What is your philosophy ?
I believe in growth by referrals and keeping a personal relationship with each client…I don’t want just a transaction to occur, I want to be a trusted advisor.
- How long have you been in business with All State and in the insurance industry ?
I opened my Allstate office in the height of the recession, June 2009…so almost 6 years. I have close to 12 years of experience in the industry.
- Do you specialize in any particular areas?
I really enjoy working with newhome buyers that need some advice on home insurance and other insurance concerns that they may have in their household. I also like clients that are interested in having some dialogue about their options and want to try to understand their policy coverage.
- What neighborhoods in Atlanta are a part of your specialized services?
I focus my marketing money and efforts on intown areas, Buckhead, Peachtree Hills,Midtown, Morningside, VA-Highlands and of course Piedmont Heights. We have products that are good for older homes as well as condos.
- What types of insurance policies are the most popular?
Every time someone buys a home with a loan or registers their car they are required to have insurance, so those are the most “popular”
- Which policy or policies do you think that people should have but they don't think they need?
I think it is more of a case of being underinsured on their auto policies and not reviewing them each year or two. I do recommend a personal umbrella policy to many home owners that have young drivers and rental properties with a lot to lose…this will increase their protection from lawsuits involving their home or in their car
- Keeping in touch with Clients is an important part of the insurance philosophy. How often do you contact your clients ?
Each year, we call every client to offer a policy review with the objective to keep up with their insurance needs and any new discounts or cost saving opportunities…but never with the motive to sell them something more!!! We also send birthday cards and other home and auto tips via email. We try not to bug people, but want to try to add some value throughout the year.
- How can prospective clients find you?
I think Facebook is a great place to start, because we offer up helpful hints and other insight into our business.
